Premium is defined here by the top of a school's fee ladder rather than its entry point: a school appears if its highest published year-group fee reaches AED 50,000 or more, and 141 UAE schools do. 103 are in Dubai, 27 in Abu Dhabi, 8 in Sharjah and 3 elsewhere. That distinction matters, because a high top fee does not mean a high starting fee, and it does not mean a high inspection grade either. 35 of the 141 are Outstanding and 48 are Very Good, so 106 of them sit below the top band despite the price.

The gap between what a school charges at the start and at the end is what this list makes visible. RAK Academy - Al Hamra qualifies on a top fee of AED 72,500 while its youngest year group costs AED 18,700, and it holds Outstanding. At the other end, North London Collegiate School Dubai runs AED 91,735 to AED 143,681, the highest published school fee in the country, and GEMS School of Research and Innovation opens at AED 92,800 and reaches AED 128,800 under its Founding Families rate, having opened in 2025 with no inspection rating yet.

Most of the list is British: 83 of the 141 teach a British curriculum, 44 offer the IB, 23 are American and 8 are French. Several of the best-known names sit closer together than their reputations suggest. Dubai College runs AED 97,415 to AED 110,305, Kings' School Al Barsha AED 57,999 to AED 105,873, Nord Anglia International School Dubai AED 69,625 to AED 105,288 and Repton School Dubai AED 57,178 to AED 102,753. All four hold Outstanding.

Age is no guide to price. The oldest school in this list, Dubai English Speaking School, opened in 1963 and tops out at AED 53,320, barely over the threshold, while the dearest opened in 2025. Jumeirah English Speaking School - Arabian Ranches opened in 2005 and sits between them at AED 54,129 to AED 104,544, also Outstanding.

How this list is built. A school appears here if its highest published year-group fee is AED 50,000 or more. That is the top of the ladder, not the entry point, and each profile carries every year group. The count includes a handful of schools that have announced an opening and are not yet inspected. Fees are the school's own most recently published figures, before sibling or early-payment discounts. The list is ordered by inspection band first, then by parent star rating. It is rebuilt from the database rather than maintained by hand, and no school pays to appear here or to sit higher.

Fees at a glance

Fees shown are annual starting tuition, read from each school's own published fee schedule and not estimated or interpolated; ratings come from KHDA, ADEK, SPEA and other regulator publications. How Talem verifies → Talem holds 5,698 published fee rows, one for every year group a school publishes, and 362 of the 416 schools listed publish 2026/2027 fees. Open a school's fee page for its full year-by-year ladder and the academic year it covers, or browse the UAE school fee index, every school that publishes a fee structure, grouped by emirate.

Frequently asked questions

What counts as a premium school here?

Any UAE school whose published fees reach above AED 50,000 a year at some point in the ladder. That is the top of the range, not the entry point: 92 of the 138 schools listed start below AED 50,000, and the lowest starts at AED 18,700.

What do premium schools actually cost in year one?

Starting fees across this group run from AED 18,700 to AED 97,415 a year. The senior years are where the AED 50,000 threshold is crossed for most of them, so the first-year figure is usually well below the headline.

Are premium schools better rated?

Not reliably. Schools in the top two inspection bands start anywhere from AED 5,525, and paying more does not buy a higher band. Each profile shows the inspection rating alongside the fee ladder so the two can be judged separately.

Why does the fee card show a lower number than the title?

The card summarises STARTING fees, which is what the table below it lists. The title refers to the top of each school's range. Both are the school's own published figures.
