GEMS World Academy - Dubai (GWA) is a premium co-educational IB World School located in Al Barsha South, Dubai, offering all four International Baccalaureate programmes: the Primary Years Programme (PYP), Middle Years Programme (MYP), Diploma Programme (DP), and Career-related Programme (CP) from Nursery through Grade 12. Founded in 2008 by GEMS Education, the school serves over 2,000 students from more than 90 nationalities across a 42,000-square-metre campus. In 2024, a new purpose-built Senior School for Grades 9-12 was opened minutes from the original Junior School campus, significantly expanding capacity to over 3,000 students. Accredited by CIS, IB, and NEASC, the school has maintained a KHDA rating of Very Good since 2017. The academy hosts the UAE's largest mother-tongue language programme, offering 16 languages through its Language Hub including Mandarin, Turkish, Russian, Spanish, Hindi, French, Italian, Korean, Dutch, Danish, Portuguese, Hebrew, and Farsi. Facilities include an Olympic-sized swimming pool, 620-seat auditorium, 3D planetarium, 400-metre athletics track, and a Centre for Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Social Impact. Over 60% of graduates attend top 50 QS World-ranked universities.
