GEMS FirstPoint School is a premium British curriculum school in The Villa, Dubailand, Dubai, offering the National Curriculum for England from Early Childhood Centre through Year 13. Established in 2014, the school is rated Very Good by KHDA and Outstanding by BSO (British Schools Overseas). Early Childhood Centre (Nursery)

Nursery

Nurturing introduction to school life combining the Reggio Emilia philosophy with the British Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum. Personalised learning with flexible hours and expert care focused on social, emotional, and early cognitive development.

Foundation Stage (EYFS)

FS1–FS2

British Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum developing communication, physical, personal, social, and emotional skills through structured play and exploration. Preparing children for the transition to Key Stage 1 with early literacy, numeracy, and creative development.

Key Stage 1

Years 1–2

National Curriculum for England with core academic subjects and specialist-taught foundation subjects. Introduction to computer programming and enterprise learning alongside strong literacy and numeracy development.

Key Stage 2

Years 3–6

Broader National Curriculum with STEAM integration, enterprise projects, and growing independence. Students access specialist science laboratories and computing facilities. Residential trip opportunities and expanded sports and creative arts programmes.

Key Stage 3

Years 7–9

Full subject specialisation in the secondary school with separate science disciplines, modern foreign languages, and creative arts. Students access 11 science laboratories and specialist facilities. Careers guidance begins in Year 9 to inform GCSE option choices.

Key Stage 4 — IGCSE

Years 10–11

IGCSE programme with compulsory core subjects and a wide range of option subjects. 21% of students achieved A* grades in 2024 with 856 entries across 150 students. Access to Golf Centre of Excellence elite sports pathway alongside academic studies.

Sixth Form — A-Levels & BTEC

Years 12–13

Students choose from 27 A-Level subjects and 5 BTEC qualifications, with the flexibility to combine both. Dedicated Sixth Form Centre with personalised university application support. 99% A-Level pass rate with 27% achieving A*-A. 96% of students obtain first-choice university destination. Siemens internship and Rahhal Programme partnerships provide industry experience.

Former Director of Innovation at an Apple Distinguished School. Also a FirstPoint parent — his family chose the school for their own children when they moved to the UAE. Under his leadership, FPS has achieved Very Good KHDA and Outstanding BSO ratings, and has been recognised with multiple Top Schools Awards.
