How a broken application process inspired a platform built to fix it.
Talem started with a personal experience. When our founder moved to Dubai to pursue higher education, he did what most international students do. He hired an education agency to help him navigate the university application process.
What followed was months of frustration. The agency forgot to follow up on submissions. Documents were uploaded late or to the wrong portals. Emails from universities went unanswered for weeks. Deadlines were missed. There was no way to track what had been submitted, what was pending, or what had gone wrong.
He realized the problem was not unique to him. Parents across the UAE face the same experience when searching for schools for their children. They rely on word of mouth, outdated directories, and fragmented processes that require dozens of phone calls, emails, and campus visits just to get basic information.
That is when the idea for Talem was born. Not in a boardroom, but from the real frustration of navigating a system that should have been simple.
