The Australian International School (AIS) Sharjah is a private, co-educational Australian school on the Maliha-Kalba Road in Industrial Area 18, Sharjah. Established in 2005 as the first Australian-curriculum school in the Middle East, through a partnership with the Government of Queensland, it delivers the Australian Curriculum from the Early Learning Centre to Grade 12 and is recognised by the UAE as an Australian school outside Australia. In Grades 11-12 students choose the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma or the Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE), via an ATAR (university) or Applied route. AIS places wellbeing at the centre of school life through Professor Lea Waters' Visible Wellbeing framework, and is known for an award-winning library of more than 82,000 items. Rated Very Good by the Sharjah Private Education Authority (SPEA), it serves around 1,478 students (school currently reports 1,700+), roughly 72% of them Emirati, across 60+ nationalities.

Fees are the school's 2026-2027 structure, billed in three terms due 1 August, 1 December and 1 March. Grades 1 to 12 are unchanged from the schedule SPEA approved, and the school has held them flat for three years. Two things are worth knowing before comparing. Nursery is part-time and priced by days per week, from AED 10,572 for one day to AED 42,289 for four, and the figure shown is the four-day rate. Kindy rose to AED 42,289 for 2026/27 because the school withdrew its shorter day and now bundles after-care into a single rate. Beyond tuition there is a health services fee of AED 200 with term one, educational resource fees from AED 450 in Pre-Kindy to AED 650 in Grades 4 to 6, and book charges of AED 200 in Grades 7 to 10 and AED 150 in Grades 11 and 12. Uniform is AED 500 per student and is bought from an external supplier. Transport is AED 5,194 one way or AED 7,990 both ways within Sharjah, Dubai and Ajman, rising to AED 8,500 for the Hatta and Dubai route, payable in three instalments. After-school care runs from AED 30 an hour, or AED 45 a day in the nursery. A sibling discount appeared on the school's previous fee sheet but not on the 2026/27 one, so confirm it directly.
