GEMS World Academy Abu Dhabi (GWA) is a private, co-educational IB World School on Al Reem Island (Najmat), part of GEMS Education. Opened in 2011 as an IB primary school and relocated in 2022 to a purpose-built Al Reem campus, it follows the IB continuum — the Primary Years Programme and Middle Years Programme — blended with the content of the National Curriculum for England and IGCSE, and launches the IB Diploma Programme and Career-related Programme in August 2026. The school currently spans FS1 to Year 11 (ages 3-16) as its secondary phase rolls up towards a full Sixth Form. Home to around 875 students from 83+ nationalities (its largest communities Indian, Emirati and American), and a CIS-accredited IB World School, it is rated Very Good by ADEK with an Outstanding judgement for the protection, care and guidance of students. The campus features a 25m six-lane pool with a learner pool, a six-court sports hall, a black box theatre and an Innovation Studio for robotics, AI and AR/VR.

ADEK 2023–2024 inspection
