Bateen World Academy

Bateen World Academy (BWA) is a private, co-educational all-through IB World School in the Al Manaseer area of Abu Dhabi, part of Aldar Education. Opened in 2011 and named for the historic Al Bateen district, it teaches around 1,030 students from 60 nationalities across the full age range from Foundation Stage to Year 13 (ages 3-18). BWA follows an internationally blended pathway, a Reggio Emilia-inspired Early Years, the IB Primary Years Programme delivered through the National Curriculum for England in primary, I/GCSE in secondary, and a sixth form offering both the IB Diploma Programme and the IB Career-related Programme (with BTEC). It is the only school in Abu Dhabi to offer the IB PYP, DP and CP, and was rated Outstanding by ADEK in its 2024-25 inspection, including Outstanding provision for both Students of Determination and gifted and talented learners. Its 2024 IB Diploma cohort averaged 34.3 points, more than four points above the global average.
