Curriculum
The Early Years at JBS follow the IB Primary Years Programme framework adapted for the youngest learners. Children explore through play-based inquiry across six transdisciplinary themes, developing curiosity, communication, and social skills. The French Native Speaker programme begins at Pre-KG, making JBS the only school in Dubai to offer this dual-language track from the earliest years. Building J houses dedicated early years classrooms with direct access to age-appropriate outdoor play areas and separate beginner swimming pools.
Teaching Approach
Play-based inquiry following the IB PYP Early Years framework. Units of Inquiry introduce transdisciplinary themes. French Native Speaker track available from Pre-KG.
Core Subjects
Specialist Subjects
The PYP at JBS is a transdisciplinary, inquiry-based programme where students explore six Units of Inquiry each year, developing knowledge, conceptual understanding, and essential skills. The French Native Speaker programme continues through to Grade 5, alongside French as a second language for all other students. Grade 5 culminates in the PYP Exhibition, a collaborative inquiry project where students investigate a real-world issue of personal significance and present their findings to the school community.
Teaching Approach
Transdisciplinary inquiry-based learning with six Units of Inquiry per year. Student agency and the Learner Profile are central. PYP Exhibition in Grade 5.

Students may sit the IB MYP eAssessment in Grade 10 to earn the IB MYP Certificate, recognised internationally by universities and employers.
