Jumeira Baccalaureate School

Jumeira Baccalaureate School (JBS) is a private co-educational International Baccalaureate school located in Jumeirah 1, Dubai, offering all four IB programmes: Primary Years Programme (PYP), Middle Years Programme (MYP), Diploma Programme (DP), and Career-related Programme (CP). Established in 2010 and operated by Taaleem, one of the UAE's largest education providers, the school occupies a spacious 33,000 sqm campus on 53B Street off Al Wasl Road. JBS serves approximately 1,619 students from over 70 nationalities, aged 3 to 18 (Pre-KG through Grade 12). The school is distinguished by its French Native Speaker programme - the only one of its kind in Dubai - running from Pre-KG to Grade 5, and was the first school outside the United Kingdom to receive the Character Education Quality Mark. In its most recent KHDA inspection (2023-2024), JBS received an overall rating of Very Good, with Inclusion rated Outstanding and 162 students of Determination supported through its exemplary inclusion programme.
Fees for 2026/2027, per year group. Excludes registration, uniform, and transport.
Fees are the school's published schedule for academic year 2026-27, which is also KHDA's total after the discount it records against this school - the approved column shows the tuition before that discount. KHDA approves only three banded tuitions across the school (AED 64,201 in the early years, 83,459 from Grade 1 to Grade 10 and 96,300 in Grades 11 and 12); the per-year-group ladder families actually pay is created by the discount, which runs from AED 3,849 to AED 26,174 depending on year group. Every fact sheet records that the school requested no increase for 2026-2027. Billed in three instalments of 40%, 30% and 30%. Registration is AED 4,000 for new pupils, credited against first-term fees. Siblings from the third child pay 10% less at any Taaleem school in Dubai. Uniform, transport, external examination fees and additional learning support are charged separately.

The Early Years at JBS follow the IB Primary Years Programme framework adapted for the youngest learners. Children explore through play-based inquiry across six transdisciplinary themes, developing curiosity, communication, and social skills. The French Native Speaker programme begins at Pre-KG, making JBS the only school in Dubai to offer this dual-language track from the earliest years. Building J houses dedicated early years classrooms with direct access to age-appropriate outdoor play areas and separate beginner swimming pools.
The PYP at JBS is a transdisciplinary, inquiry-based programme where students explore six Units of Inquiry each year, developing knowledge, conceptual understanding, and essential skills. The French Native Speaker programme continues through to Grade 5, alongside French as a second language for all other students. Grade 5 culminates in the PYP Exhibition, a collaborative inquiry project where students investigate a real-world issue of personal significance and present their findings to the school community.
The MYP at JBS provides a challenging framework that encourages students to make practical connections between their studies and the real world. Students study eight subject groups with a concept-driven curriculum emphasising Approaches to Learning (ATL) skills. The Community Project in Grade 8 and the Personal Project in Grade 10 are key milestones. Students may sit the IB MYP eAssessment in Grade 10 to earn the IB MYP Certificate, recognised internationally by universities and employers.
Students choose between the IB Diploma Programme and the Career-related Programme. DP students select six subjects (three at Higher Level, three at Standard Level) alongside the DP core of Theory of Knowledge, Extended Essay, and Creativity Activity Service. CP students combine at least two DP courses with a career-related study such as the BTEC National Diploma, alongside the CP core of Personal and Professional Skills, Service Learning, Reflective Project, and Language Development. Both pathways are recognised globally by universities.
