Horizon English School

Horizon English School is one of Dubai's longest-established British primary schools, founded in 1989 and part of the Cognita Group. Located in the Al Safa community near Safa Park, the school delivers the English National Curriculum through the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and Key Stages 1 and 2, serving students aged 3 to 11 from FS1 to Year 6. With approximately 1,300 students representing over 70 nationalities, Horizon is celebrated for its inclusive, nurturing environment and consistently strong academic outcomes. The school has been rated Outstanding by KHDA for four consecutive inspection cycles and holds BSO (British Schools Overseas) accreditation. Horizon is known for its innovative approach to education, including a personal-device programme from Year 3, a dedicated STEMM lab, observatory, and recording studio. The school is currently developing a new purpose-built campus at Dubai Hills, set to open in 2026.
Fees for 2026/2027, per year group. Excludes registration, uniform, and transport.
The figures above are Horizon's own published 2026-27 total, which the school states covers "tuition, medical fees, stationery, and a digital device". The KHDA-approved column shows tuition alone, so the two are counting different things and the school is not charging above its approved fee: KHDA's tuition plus its mandatory, stationery and device lines reconcile exactly to the school's total on every year group. Fees are billed in three instalments of 40%, 30% and 30%, and exclude lunches, transport and educational trips.

The EYFS programme follows the English Early Years Foundation Stage framework, providing a play-based, exploratory curriculum that develops foundational literacy, numeracy, and social skills. Children learn through structured and child-initiated activities across seven areas of learning.
Key Stage 1 builds upon the EYFS foundation, introducing the English National Curriculum with a focus on core literacy and numeracy skills. Students develop reading fluency, handwriting, and mathematical reasoning through engaging, topic-based learning.
Key Stage 2 extends and deepens students' understanding across the English National Curriculum. The programme emphasises critical thinking, independent research, and preparation for secondary education. Students benefit from specialist teaching across most subjects and a 1:1 personal device programme from Year 3.
