Horizon English School is one of Dubai's longest-established British primary schools, founded in 1989 and part of the Cognita Group. Located in the Al Safa community near Safa Park, the school delivers the English National Curriculum through the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and Key Stages 1 and 2, serving students aged 3 to 11 from FS1 to Year 6. With approximately 1,300 students representing over 70 nationalities, Horizon is celebrated for its inclusive, nurturing environment and consistently strong academic outcomes. The school has been rated Outstanding by KHDA for four consecutive inspection cycles and holds BSO (British Schools Overseas) accreditation. Horizon is known for its innovative approach to education, including a personal-device programme from Year 3, a dedicated STEMM lab, observatory, and recording studio. The school is currently developing a new purpose-built campus at Dubai Hills, set to open in 2026.
