Horizon International School

Horizon International School (HIS) is a British curriculum school located in Umm Al Sheif, Jumeirah, Dubai, established in 2008. Part of the Cognita global schools group and sister school to Horizon English School, HIS serves over 1,385 students from 80+ nationalities across FS1 to Year 13. The school follows the English National Curriculum from EYFS through to A Levels, with IGCSEs and GCSEs at Key Stage 4. Led by Principal Stephen Quinn, who previously served as Vice Principal and Head of Primary for six years, HIS achieved a Very Good KHDA rating in 2023-2024 and an Outstanding BSO (British Schools Overseas) rating in November 2023. The campus in the heart of Jumeirah features two swimming pools including an eight-lane air-conditioned pool, a large Astroturf pitch, purpose-built sports hall, auditorium, multipurpose theatre, and specialist science, art, and music facilities. The school offers over 70 extracurricular activities including LAMDA, Duke of Edinburgh, F1 in Schools, and the EVOLV3 gifted programme. In 2024, GCSE results showed 53% at grades 9-7 and A Level students achieved a 100% pass rate with all securing first-choice university places.
Fees for 2026/2027, per year group. Excludes registration, uniform, and transport.
Tuition for 2026-2027 as published by the school. A compulsory books and resources charge is added to every year group on top of tuition, which the school prints per year group: AED 350 in Foundation Stage 1 rising to AED 1,300 from Year 10, covering notebooks, stationery and some online subscriptions. The school's own table calls the combined figure the total payable. Fees are paid in full or in three instalments of 40, 30 and 30 per cent due 1 August 2026, 1 December 2026 and 1 March 2027, or by up to ten post-dated cheques, with the books charge included in the first payment. A place is secured by a deposit of 10 per cent of tuition for new pupils and 5 per cent for returning ones, deducted from the first term. The AED 525 application fee is not refundable and is not deducted from tuition. Neither reduction is open to everyone: 5 per cent applies from a third child and only to the youngest, and is withdrawn if any payment is late, and AED 500 is given for paying the year in full by 15 September 2026. Devices are parent-purchased and compulsory from Year 2, and IGCSE, GCSE and A Level examination fees are invoiced separately. Lunches, transport and trips are excluded.
