Admission to the University of Sharjah is competitive and based on academic achievement. The university states that it accepts students who are academically qualified and behaviourally distinguished regardless of nationality, colour, religion or disability, and that priority goes to UAE citizens and to applicants with high secondary school grades. Meeting the published minimum grade, submitting the application and paying the fee does not by itself guarantee a place: admitted students are allocated to colleges within the approved number of seats for each programme, according to their stated order of preference and their grades. Applicants still in secondary school receive conditional admission until final results are submitted.
Applicants indicate their order of preference for majors on the application form.
Submit the application form and required documents to the Admissions Department by the stated deadline. The undergraduate application fee is AED 360 and is non-refundable. Applicants to the Colleges of Medicine and Dental Medicine pay a further AED 1,500 to enter the competitive selection process, non-refundable whether or not they are accepted. The master's application fee is AED 500.
Places are awarded competitively within each college's capacity. Admission to the College of Medicine is limited to applicants who obtained their secondary certificate in the UAE and is decided by an academic competition among applicants.
A reservation fee is payable after meeting the criteria. It is non-refundable if the student withdraws or does not enrol, and is applied toward tuition if the student enrols.
Before course registration every new, transfer and bridging student must show English proficiency at the level their college requires, by TOEFL, IELTS or PTE. Certificates older than two years are not accepted. Students who do not reach the required score are placed in the Intensive English Program.
Applicants must be medically, physically and mentally fit and provide evidence of immunisation against major blood-borne viral infections as their major requires.
Classes begin 24 August 2026. New students' orientation week runs from 17 August 2026 and the last day to add or drop is 27 August 2026, per the university's published academic calendar.
Doctor of Business Administration, Fall 2026/2027: All DBA applications for Fall 2026/2027 must be submitted by this date. Late submissions are not accepted.
Doctor of Business Administration written examination: Held at the University of Sharjah. One hour, paper-based and in person; results are final and decide admission against the number of available seats.
