The UAE has a vision of becoming one of the world's leading countries in research, innovation, and sustainable development. Advancing the architecture education sector is significant to the realization of the country's vision, but the number of graduate programs offered at universities in the UAE in architecture of closely-related fields is limited. Thus, the University of Sharjah has established the Master of Science in Architecture (MScArch) program, which is offered by the Department of Architectural Engineering. The program is research based, consists of 33 credit hours, and normally requires 2 years of study. In response to the interest of prospective students and potential employers of future graduates from the program and to bolster promising and much needed fields of research and innovation, the program will cover the areas of urbanism, sustainable architecture, and digital design and technology. The program aims to prepare leading, world-class experts in architecture and urbanism who will be effective in the study, critique, analysis, and design of the built environment.
