For applicants who otherwise meet AUS admission standards but fall below the minimum TOEFL/IELTS score for direct entry to a degree programme. Students complete two English Bridge Program courses, a minimum of 12 contact hours: ELP 211 Academic Literacy, plus either ELP 221 Communication or ELP 232 English for Grammar and Writing Success.

Admission requires TOEFL iBT 72 (new score 4), AUS Institutional TOEFL ITP 543, or IELTS Academic 6.0 overall. Placement into ELP 221 or ELP 232 is determined by the TOEFL, IELTS or Bridge Placement Test. Students exit by passing the upper-level bridge courses; there is no need to re-sit IELTS or TOEFL.

Bridge students may additionally enrol in ONE undergraduate College of Arts and Sciences course from an approved list (MDC 101, ARA 101 and ARA 102 Arabic-language sections, MTH 100, MTH 102, MTH 103, MTH 111), conditional on being registered in Bridge courses. Tuition is AED 36,012 per regular semester. On successful completion students matriculate into their undergraduate programme.

A secondary-school average of 85% or above in the final year, or 85% or above across the best two of the last three years, with an attested certificate and a UAE Ministry of Education equivalency where required. Admission is competitive and the working minimum varies by major, seat availability and test scores. Graduates of American High School and SABIS curricula must submit an SAT Math score of 450 or above before the semester begins. Mandatory subjects at a minimum grade equivalent to B: Mathematics and Physics for engineering majors and data science; Mathematics for business majors; Mathematics and a science subject for science majors including computer science, and for architecture and interior design.

IELTS Academic 6.5, TOEFL iBT 4.5 (equivalent to 80 on the previous scale), or AUS Institutional TOEFL ITP 550. AUS accepts only TOEFL and IELTS; scores are valid for two calendar years. Transfer applicants may alternatively present EmSAT Achieve English 1550.

Mathematics must have been completed within the final three years of secondary education, and the required science subject by at least Grade 11, with Grade 12 preferred. Advanced Placement, GCE A-Level, IB Higher Level and other qualifications may exempt applicants from placement tests or earn freshman-level credit under the Advanced Standing Credit Transfer Policy.

A relevant bachelor's degree from a recognised institution with a CGPA of at least 3.00/4.00 for full admission; 2.50–2.99 may be considered for conditional admission (engineering 2.0–2.5 case-by-case). Recommendation letters vary by programme (engineering 2, business 1, arts & sciences 1); a statement of purpose is required for the TESOL, International Studies and Media Studies master's.

MBA applicants take the GMAT or the AUS MBA Admission Test (no minimum score required); a GMAT/GRE strengthens other business applications.

A master's degree with a CGPA of at least 3.00/4.00 (or exceptional direct entry from a bachelor's with ≥3.50/4.00). Applicants submit three reference letters (at least two academic), an updated CV and a statement of purpose of around 1,500 words, and complete both bachelor's and master's document sets.

The GRE (General) is required where the programme mandates it (GMAT accepted for business); a qualifying/comprehensive examination is taken during the programme.
