Frequently asked questions
How many universities does Talem list?
Talem lists 27 universities across the UAE: 15 in Dubai, 7 in Abu Dhabi, 3 in Sharjah, and one each in Ajman and Ras Al Khaimah.
Can I see individual degree programmes, not just universities?
Yes. Talem publishes a page for each of the 1,402 degree programmes these universities run, with entry requirements, duration and intake dates. Open any university and browse its programmes tab.
Are UAE universities internationally ranked?
25 of the 27 carry a QS World University Ranking, shown on each profile. Branch campuses generally inherit the ranking of their parent institution, which is worth checking rather than assuming.
Who accredits universities in the UAE?
The Commission for Academic Accreditation, part of the Ministry of Higher Education, licenses institutions and accredits programmes. Free-zone campuses may instead be regulated by their zone authority, such as KHDA for Dubai International Academic City.
