Established in 1993, the University of Wollongong in Dubai (UOWD) is the first international Australian university in the UAE and one of the emirate's longest-established universities. A branch campus of the University of Wollongong (ranked #195 in the QS World University Rankings 2027), UOWD offers more than 40 bachelor's and master's degrees across business, computer science, engineering, information technology, media, psychology, education and health. Every degree is accredited by the UAE Ministry of Education's Commission for Academic Accreditation (CAA), licensed by the KHDA, and awarded by UOW Australia, so graduates earn the same internationally recognised Australian qualification and can transfer to the Wollongong or Sydney campuses. The 200,000 sq ft "Campus of the Future" in Dubai Knowledge Park opened in 2020 and is home to over 3,500 students from 108 nationalities, with 85% of graduates employed within six months. Professional accreditations include AACSB, ACCA, ACS, CIM, CIPD, CPA, Engineers Australia and PMI.

All fees are inclusive of 5% VAT (from 1 January 2018) and are subject to change. Yearly cost varies with the number of subjects enrolled. USD equivalents are indicative at 1 USD = 3.67 AED and exclude textbooks, stationery, and incidental costs. Registration and subject fees are payable when you accept an offer. Undergraduate tuition is shown per year on each programme; postgraduate study is billed per subject, with typical totals shown on each programme.
Three tiers, and the value depends on the entry route: on the 4-year Bachelor Degree with Integrated Freshman Year the tiers are 50% / 25% / 15%, on the 3-year Advanced Entry route they are 25% / 15% / 10%. Tiers are set by school-leaving grade, for example UAE/Arabic Thannawiya Amma 98/90/85%, Indian CBSE and State Board 95/85/80%, International Baccalaureate 40/35/30, UK A-Levels 3A/2A/1A, American High School Diploma 98/90/85% or SAT 1300/1200/1150, ATAR 90/85/80, French Baccalaureate 15/14/13 out of 20. Awarded first-come, first-served; retained with a cumulative WAM of 75 or above. Application deadline for Autumn 2026 entry: 15 June 2026 for Indian schools, 15 July 2026 for MOE/American/IB, 15 August 2026 for UK A-Levels.
Two tiers, 25% and 15%, set by the grade in the applicant's prior degree on a published country-by-country table, for example UK 70/65%, UAE 3.8/3.5 GPA, USA 3.8/3.5, India 75/70% (or 9.0/8.5 on the 10-point scale), Australia 80/75%, China 95/90%, Egypt 85/80%, Jordan 85/80%, Kenya 76/72%, Nigeria 75/70%, Pakistan 75/70%. Retained with a WAM of 65 or above.
Sports scholarship for new bachelor's and master's entrants who demonstrate sporting achievement. UOWD publishes the number available as 2. Offered in the Autumn trimester, with any balance in Winter and Spring.
Open to current students of any citizenship who have a cumulative Weighted Average Mark of at least 75 and have completed at least 36 credit points. Awarded at the beginning of the Autumn trimester and valid for one year. Numbers are limited and awards are made first-come, first-served by the UOWD Scholarship Committee.

The University of Wollongong in Dubai welcomes applications from students in the UAE and worldwide. UOWD sponsors UAE student visas for enrolled students. After you accept your offer and pay the visa and subject fees, UOWD issues an entry permit (typically 10-15 business days), followed by a medical examination, biometrics, and Emirates ID. Applicants under 18 are exempt from the medical test.
UOWD sits in the heart of Dubai Knowledge Park with a lively campus community of over 3,500 students from 108 nationalities. Student life spans student clubs and societies, dedicated career services, partner accommodation, and a free metro shuttle, plus the option to transfer to the University of Wollongong campuses in Australia.
UOWD does not operate on-campus halls of residence. It partners with a preferred student residence and helps students find suitable housing near campus.
UOWD Career Services (located at FRED on the first floor) focuses on employability: UOWD reports 85% of graduates employed within six months of graduation, from its Graduate Destination Survey covering 2017 to 2023. Advisers have an extensive employer network and connect students to internships and graduate roles.
UOWD occupies a 200,000 sq ft Campus of the Future in Dubai Knowledge Park, opened in 2020. It combines traditional and innovative learning spaces with cutting-edge technology, and is UOWD's fourth Dubai location in a 30-year history.
The Learning Resource Centre (LRC) has several spaces for collaboration and blended learning alongside quiet, traditional study areas. Its collection spans print and electronic resources, including electronic journals, subject-based resources, standards and statistical information, and supports research as well as teaching. Students can also borrow laptops for their studies.
Ultra-modern laboratories and workshops across engineering and computer science: geo-tech, thermal, networking, electrical, chemistry, thermodynamics, physics, manufacturing, robotics, cybersecurity, gaming, and media and communications. Media and design students also use the Media Lab, equipped with Black Magic cameras, Rode microphones, Yamaha digital audio mixers and ATEM live production switchers.

The FRED student hub on the first floor delivers career advising, workshops, and employer engagement. UOWD reports that 85% of its graduates are employed within six months of graduation, from its Graduate Destination Survey covering 2017 to 2023.
Hospitals, clinics and pharmacies are located in close proximity to the campus, serving students' and staff healthcare needs and medical emergencies. UOWD describes these as nearby rather than on site.
Separate prayer rooms for male and female students, located on the second floor, so students can pray without leaving campus.
