BITS Pilani Dubai

BITS Pilani, Dubai Campus (BPDC) is the international campus of the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, one of India's leading private technical universities. Established in 2000, it was the first Indian university to open an overseas campus, and in September 2007 it moved into its permanent home in Dubai International Academic City, Dubai's purpose-built higher-education free zone. The campus delivers BITS Pilani's credit-based curriculum and its distinctive Practice School model entirely in English, offering Bachelor of Engineering degrees across a range of specializations, a BBA Honours, Master of Engineering and MBA programmes, and a Ph.D. offered full-time, part-time and through a Ph.D. aspirant scheme. The campus is regulated in the UAE through KHDA and Dubai International Academic City, and was rated 5 Star by KHDA in partnership with QS in 2022. It publishes a seven-and-a-half-month Practice School internship with over 400 corporate companies and 300+ companies offering internships, an alumni network of over 6,000, and merit-based scholarships of up to 75%. BITS Pilani reports placing in the Top 200 of the QS Asia University Rankings and the Top 300 of the QS Graduate Employability Rankings, and is ranked the No.1 technical institute in the non-government category by India Today.

BITS Pilani Dubai does not publish its tuition fees on any public page. Its department pages invite prospective students to enquire about the "fee structure", and its fee portal at admission.bits-dubai.ac.ae requires a BITS ID or application number to sign in. The only public figures found are on an admissions page carrying a 2020 copyright notice, which also advertises programmes the campus no longer offers, and are therefore recorded here as historic rather than current: AED 45,000 per annum for the Bachelor of Engineering programmes and AED 31,000 per annum for the M.E. and MBA programmes, each payable in four instalments. Prospective students should confirm current fees with the campus directly.
BITS Pilani Dubai advertises merit-based scholarships of up to 75% on its campus homepage. It does not publish the award bands or the qualifying criteria.
Unlike the Indian campuses, BITS Pilani Dubai does not require the BITSAT entrance exam. Admission to the Bachelor of Engineering programmes is merit-based on Class 12 (Grade 12) board marks, and a strong BITSAT score is optional, unlocking additional scholarship rather than admission. Postgraduate admission is based on the qualifying degree (with an interview for the MBA), and doctoral admission on a relevant master's degree.

BITS Pilani Dubai sponsors the UAE student residence visa for its students, with mandatory medical insurance. Students already sponsored by a UAE-resident parent may study under that sponsorship instead. The campus does not publish its visa or insurance charges.
BITS Pilani Dubai is an active, multicultural residential campus. Its Clubs & Associations page enumerates around twenty student clubs and associations spanning technical, cultural, literary, sporting and professional interests. Its signature Practice School model places students in industry for a seven-and-a-half-month internship, and the campus runs the BITS Sports Festival, an inter-university competition in which more than fifteen colleges and universities from across the UAE take part, alongside Jashn, which BITS describes as one of the biggest cultural festivals organised by an education institution in the UAE.
On-campus hostels provide separate, air-conditioned and furnished residences for boys and girls, with a mess (dining), common rooms and recreation facilities. The campus has six hostel blocks, all connected to the main academic block by fibre-optic cable.
