Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering

BSUndergraduateEngineering

About This Programme

An ABET-accredited degree bridging hardware and software — digital systems, embedded computing, networks and computer architecture — with a summer internship and a two-semester senior project. Prepares graduates for technology, telecoms and research careers.

Course Highlights

  • ABET (EAC)-accredited, reaffirmed through 2030
  • Hardware/software breadth: digital systems, microcontrollers, computer architecture, networks and embedded/cyber-physical systems
  • Electives in IoT programming, wireless/mobile networks, computer vision and AR/VR
  • Two-semester capstone design project and mandatory industry internship

What You'll Study

Blends hardware and software through lecture courses plus digital-systems, electronics and computer-systems engineering labs, a required 8-week summer internship (NGN 397), and a two-semester senior design project (COE 490/491).

Entry Requirements

Academic: A secondary-school average of about 85% (or in the best two of the last three years), with UAE Ministry of Education equivalency where required, and a minimum grade B in the mathematics and science subjects required for the major. American-curriculum applicants take the SAT or EmSAT mathematics test.
English: TOEFL iBT 80, IELTS Academic 6.5, or EmSAT Achieve English 1550.

A mathematics placement test determines direct entry to Calculus I.

Careers

Computer engineers design and build computing hardware and software systems — embedded and cyber-physical systems, IoT, computer networks, digital hardware and electronics — across technology, telecom, semiconductor and defence sectors.

Accreditation & Professional Recognition

Licensed by the UAE Commission for Academic Accreditation (CAA); accredited by the ABET Engineering Accreditation Commission (EAC), reaffirmed through 2030.
