About This Programme
One-year MSc Renewable Energy Engineering addressing wind, marine, biomass, and solar technologies integration. Balanced delivery via Canvas-based independent study + evening/weekend campus lectures, accommodates working professionals. Year 1 (Sep) mandatory: Foundations of Energy, Renewable Energy Technologies, Economics of Renewable Energy. (Sep) optional: Climate Change Sustainability and Adaptation, Electrical Power Systems, Heat Exchangers and Heat Transfer. (Jan) mandatory: Technology Futures and Business Strategy, Critical Analysis and Research Preparation. (Jan) optional: Environmental Impact Assessment, Demand Management and Energy Storage, Advanced Thermodynamic Applications. (May) mandatory: Masters Dissertation. Entry: Honours degree (first or second class) in chemical/process, mechanical, electrical/electronic, environmental/civil, marine, or aerospace engineering; chemistry or physics with strong maths and coursework in fluid mechanics, heat transfer, thermodynamics also accepted. IELTS 6.0 (no band below 5.5). September and January intakes. Full-time 1 year; part-time 4 semesters / 30 months for January starters incl. dissertation. Tuition AED 107,484/year full-time (incl. VAT) or AED 53,742/year part-time. Accreditations: Energy Institute (EI), on behalf of the Engineering Council, graduates meet partial or full academic requirements for Chartered or Incorporated Engineer registration; MSc holders with a BEng (Hons) accredited for CEng satisfy the educational foundation for CEng registration; UAE MoHESR; UK Royal Charter. 90%+ graduate employment within six months. Energy Institute (EI) This programme is accredited by the Energy Institute (EI) on behalf of the Engineering Council. Students completing an EI accredited degree are deemed to have met part or all of the academic requirements for registration as a Chartered or Incorporated Engineer and are in a strong position to move on to achieve professional engineering status after a period of initial professional development in industry. The accredited MSc will meet, in part, the exemplifying academic benchmark requirements for registration as a Chartered Engineer. Accredited MSc graduates who also have a BEng (Hons) accredited for CEng will be able to show that they have satisfied the educational base for CEng registration. MoHESR and UK Royal Charter This programme is accredited by the UAE Ministry of Higher Education and also accredited and approved by the UK Royal Charter.
