About This Programme
One-year MSc (full-time) combining civil engineering technical depth with construction management. 8 optional taught courses (minimum 2 Construction Management + minimum 5 technical Civil Engineering) plus a mandatory Research Dissertation in Civil Engineering. September optional modules: Sustainability for Construction Professionals, Environmental Hydrology and Water Resources, Design and Analysis of Tall Steel Buildings, Structural Element Design, Geotechnics B (Geotechnical Applications), Structural Materials, Project Management: Theory and Practice, Value and Risk Management. January optional modules: Plastic Analysis of Structures, Foundation Engineering, Urban Drainage Design and Analysis, Water Supply System Analysis, Water and Wastewater Treatment, Construction Financial Management, Project Management: Strategic Issues. Entry: a good relevant engineering Honours degree (first or upper second class) with background in civil, structures, geotechnics, water, or materials engineering and substantial mathematics. Alternative qualifications assessed individually. IELTS 6.0 (no band below 5.5). Accreditations: Joint Board of Moderators (JBM); ICE (Institution of Civil Engineers); IStructE (Institution of Structural Engineers); CIHT (Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation); IHE (Institute of Highway Engineers); RailEI; UAE MoHESR; UK Royal Charter. Programme meets requirements for Chartered Engineer (CEng) progression for candidates with partial CEng accreditation. September (full-time and part-time) + January (part-time only) intakes. Full-time AED 107,484/year (incl. VAT); part-time AED 53,742/year over 24 months + 6-month dissertation. 90%+ graduates in graduate-level jobs or further study within six months.
