Master of Science in Electrical Engineering

MSPostgraduateEngineering

About This Programme

The MS in Electrical Engineering combines theoretical fundamentals with practical application and teaches the methods and advanced techniques used in the field, including artificial intelligence. Students can focus their studies in AI and robotics, communications or smart energy while working closely with faculty in an applied research area. The 30 credits are divided between core courses, focus-area courses, electives and a thesis or graduate paper, and the page also describes a comprehensive exam route. Declaring a focus area is optional and is used for advising: focus areas do not appear on transcripts, and every student is certified against the general MSEE degree requirements.

Course Highlights

  • 30 credit hours, finishing with a 6-credit thesis or a 3-credit graduate paper
  • Core courses: Random Signals and Noise, Artificial Intelligence Explorations, Engineering Analysis and Advanced Engineering Mathematics, plus a graduate seminar
  • Focus areas: AI and Robotics, Communications, and Smart Energy, three courses each
  • Thesis students take eight courses plus the thesis; graduate paper students take nine courses plus the paper
  • Programme labs: Smart Energy Lab, AI/Robotics Lab, Computing Security Lab, Computer Networking Lab and TDRA-ICTFund Digital Transformation Lab
  • Accredited by the UAE Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research
