About This Programme
4-year BSc (Hons) Psychology with applied focus going beyond textbook and theory to explore real-world uses of psychology. Curriculum aligned with British Psychological Society (BPS) recommendations. Year 1 mandatory: Introduction to Psychology 1/2, Research Methods and Analysis 1/2, Academic Skills in Psychology, Becoming a Professional. Year 1 optional: Management in a Global Context, Psychology and Technology, Sustainable Business. Year 2 mandatory: Philosophy and History of Psychology, Developmental Psychology, Research Methods and Analysis 3 (Sep); Cognitive Psychology, Research Methods and Analysis 4, Social Psychology (Jan). Year 2 electives (choose 2 from related management): Fundamentals of Marketing, Human Resource Management, Organisational Behaviour. Year 3 mandatory: Cognition across the Lifespan, Cross-Cultural Psychology, Forensic Psychology, Research Methods and Analysis 5 (Sep); Biological Psychology, Research Methods and Analysis 6, Health Psychology, Personality and Individual Differences (Jan). Year 3 also includes 2 management electives. Year 4: Research Project 1 (Sep) + Research Project 2 (Jan); optional Neuropsychology, Psychology of Education, Workplace Psychology, Psychology and Mental Health, Cognitive Rehabilitation, Counselling Psychology, Advanced Social Psychology. Year 1 entry: A-Level CCD (or BBBB AS); CBSE 70%; American HS 70% + SAT I 1000; Tawjihiyya 80% (Elite 75%); IB 24; BTEC L3 MMM; WAEC B2; FBISE 70%; Russian/Kazakhstan Attestat grade 5 + IELTS 6.0; French Bac 12/20 + IELTS 6.0; Lebanese Bac 80% or 13/20 + IELTS 6.0; Scottish Highers BBBB. Year 2 advanced entry (Sep only): A-Level CCC; IB 27 (Psychology HL); CBSE 80%; BTEC L3 DDD; FBISE 85%; Scottish Advance Higher BC; Psychology mandatory. IELTS 6.0 (no band below 5.5). September and January intakes (Jan for Year 1 only). Tuition AED 87,010/year (incl. VAT), total AED 348,040. Psychology BSc tuition is higher than the AED 82,264 rate used for most HW Dubai BEng/BSc programmes. 90%+ graduate employment within six months. Graduates eligible for postgraduate training internationally.
