About This Programme
The MSc Construction Management at the University of Birmingham Dubai prepares engineers and built-environment professionals for senior and specialist roles in construction management around the world, with advanced training in technical and management skills for the challenges facing the industry. It runs for 12 months full-time or two years part-time, with classes on weekday evenings and Saturdays. The first semester builds a foundation in business management, covering strategy, innovation, marketing, organisational behaviour and financial management, taught by academics from the triple-crown accredited Birmingham Business School. The second semester, taught by the School of Engineering, covers sustainable construction and innovative project management methods, and over the summer students complete a 60-credit research project on a contemporary engineering management topic. The programme works with professional bodies such as the ICE and PMI and focuses on the digital and sustainable transition of the industry.

What You'll Study
The MSc is taught through lectures, seminars, class discussions, group presentations and guided self-study in a block format, with case-study analysis, practical assignments, workshops and tutorials. Lectures show how experts approach problems in the field and seminars deepen understanding through discussion. Students specialise in areas of construction management and complete a research-based dissertation with one-to-one supervision, and assessment includes presentations and the dissertation project. Classes combine weekday evenings and weekends to suit working professionals as well as full-time students. The draft full-time timetable runs on weekday evenings from 18:00 to 21:00 and on Saturdays from 09:00 to 16:00, with each module block-taught over two weeks; part-time students attend the same sessions for the modules they take. Entry Requirements
Applicants must meet both the University's general entry requirements and the course's own criteria. Each application is reviewed by the course's Admissions Tutor, who decides whether to make an offer.

Graduates can begin or resume a career in construction management, able to handle complex issues and explain their conclusions clearly to specialists and non-specialists. AED 155,483/yr
AED 155,483 a year full-time (September 2026) or AED 77,742 a year part-time (September 2026 or January 2027). The fee covers tuition, examinations and graduation and is charged for each year of study, so part-time students pay it in both years; it can be paid in full or in three instalments a year, and it does not include visa or living costs. Applications for September 2026 entry to this programme are closed, and details for September 2027 entry will be published later. Applications are made online through the University of Birmingham Dubai Admissions portal, with no application fee; postgraduate applicants upload transcripts for study completed so far, their degree certificate if available, and a CV. Decisions are usually made within 10 working days of all documents arriving. A non-returnable AED 5,000 deposit, deducted from tuition, is paid on accepting an offer. Scholarships of up to 30% are assessed from the application itself, with no separate form, and full-time students can apply for a student visa sponsored by the University.
