The Japanese School Dubai (DJS) is a small, non-profit school in Al Wasl established in April 1980. It is officially recognised by the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) and serves approximately 175 students from Pre-KG through Grade 9 (Junior High). The school delivers the Japanese national curriculum in Japanese, with English and Arabic taught as additional languages, preparing students to continue their secondary education in Japan or at other UAE schools. DJS has been rated Good by KHDA in every inspection cycle since 2008 (14 consecutive cycles, most recent in February 2024).

Fees are KHDA's approved annual tuition for 2026/2027, which for this school is the April 2026 to March 2027 year. Kindergarten runs three years, all at AED 38,400; Grades 1 to 3 are AED 32,400, Grades 4 to 6 AED 33,000 and Grades 7 to 9 AED 33,600, collected termly. A one-time enrolment fee applies on joining: AED 3,200 for kindergarten and AED 2,700 to 2,800 plus VAT for Grade 1 to 9 transfers. This is a not-for-profit school run by the Japanese Association of Dubai, and it publishes no fee page of its own, linking instead to its KHDA record.
