Research specialisations: (1) Data Science — predictive analytics, big data, semantic technologies, visualisation, smart cities applications, healthcare and finance modelling; (2) Artificial Intelligence — machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing, robotics, computer vision, multimedia imaging, healthcare and sentiment analysis; (3) Cyber Security — malware detection, network intrusion detection, digital forensics, access control systems, P2P security. Students work with expert supervision teams and are expected to publish in high-impact venues. Industry and government partnership opportunities. Collaboration between Dubai and Edinburgh campuses. Application requires: a 3-4 page research proposal (topic, objectives, literature summary, methodology, theoretical structure, provisional timeline, expected contributions); full academic transcripts; English language proficiency proof; funding confirmation/sponsorship evidence. Entry: applicants should hold a Master's degree or upper-second Bachelor's in a relevant area. IELTS 6.0 (no band below 5.5); pre-sessional English available.
