About This Programme
4-year BSc (Hons) Computer Systems with a Games Programming specialisation. Shares Years 1-3 with the general Computer Systems BSc (systems-level CS with hardware-software interaction focus). Year 4 mandatory: Computer Graphics, Research Methods & Requirements Engineering (Sep); Games Programming, Design & Implementation, Project Testing and Presentation (Jan). Year 4 optional: Computer Network Security, Information Systems Methodologies, Rigorous Methods for Software Engineering, Statistical Modelling and Analysis, Industrial Programming, Advanced HCI, Advanced Network Security, Big Data Management, Digital and Knowledge Economy, Data Visualisation and Analytics, e-Commerce Technology, Digital Forensics. Combines systems engineering depth with games industry skills, students learn the underlying systems concepts in Years 1-3 then specialise in games for Year 4. Distinct from BSc Computer Science (Computer Games Programming), that variant builds on a CS Software/Algorithms foundation; this one builds on a Computer Systems (hardware-software) foundation. Year 1 entry: A-Level CCC; IB 24; CBSE 65%; American HS 70% + SAT I 1000; Tawjihiyya 80% (Elite 75%); FBISE 70%; BTEC L3 MMM; Scottish Highers BBBB; Lebanese Bac 80% or 13/20 + IELTS 6.0; French Bac 12/20 + IELTS 6.0; Russian/Kazakhstan Attestat grade 5 + IELTS 6.0. Year 2 advanced entry: A-Level BBC (CS mandatory); IB 27 (CS HL); CBSE 85% (CS); HND PPP (CS); BTEC L3 DDD (CS); FBISE 85% (CS); Scottish Advance Higher BB + BBBB. IELTS 6.0 (no band below 5.5).
