Bachelor of Science in Public Health and Environmental Health Management

BScUndergraduateHealth Sciences

About This Programme

The Bachelor of Science in Public Health and Environmental Health Management (PH-EHM) provides students with a strong foundation in life sciences, public health, and sustainability principles. The curriculum combines scientific, managerial, and policy perspectives to address how environmental factors, including air, water, soil, and food, affect population health and ecosystem sustainability. Students are introduced to methodologies for assessing environmental risks, applying health protection measures, and developing management systems in line with national and international standards. The program emphasizes applied learning alongside theoretical study. Laboratory work, field experiences, internships, and community projects allow students to gain practical skills in identifying, analyzing, and solving environmental health problems. Communication and leadership skills are also developed to prepare students for professional collaboration, individual research, and innovative problem-solving in diverse contexts.

Course Highlights

  • Specialized Knowledge in PH-EHM: Students gain a comprehensive, multidisciplinary education that bridges life sciences, public health, and environmental management. The curriculum gives graduates an in-depth, field-ready understanding of how environmental factors affect population health and ecosystem sustainability.
  • Industrial Management Focus: The program integrates environmental and health management principles. Students develop the managerial competencies needed to lead environmental health operations in industrial, governmental, and community settings.
  • Hands-On Learning: Learning goes well beyond the classroom through laboratory sessions, field experiences, internships, and community projects. The dedicated Internship places students in real professional environments, where they apply their scientific and managerial skills to address genuine environmental health challenges.
  • Capstone Projects: Students undertake an integrative capstone experience that requires them to design, conduct, and communicate original research. This prepares graduates to independently investigate complex public health and environmental issues and contribute meaningful solutions to the field.
  • Global Relevance: The curriculum is grounded in national and international standards through addressing pressing worldwide challenges. The program equips graduates to operate effectively in both regional and global professional contexts.
  • Sustainability and Ethics: Sustainability is embedded throughout the program. Paired with an ethics focus, students are trained to make decisions that are not only scientifically sound but also responsible, equitable, and aligned with long-term environmental stewardship.
  • Flexible Electives: Students tailor their degree toward their career interests and professional goals through a range of major electives.
  • Faculty-Driven Research Opportunities: Through courses such as Biostatistics, Epidemiology, and Applied Research in Health Administration, students are trained in rigorous research methodologies under faculty guidance. This foundation enables students to engage in faculty-led research initiatives and contribute to advancing evidence-based environmental health practices.
  • Entrepreneurial and Innovation Training: Students are equipped with the innovation mindset and entrepreneurial skills to develop novel solutions and pursue impactful careers at the intersection of Public Health and Environmental Management.
