About This Programme
The MSc Supply Chain Management at the University of Birmingham Dubai, designed with industry experts, prepares students for key roles in a field made more urgent by a shifting geopolitical landscape, from global logistics and procurement to operations planning, sustainability and strategic transformation. Taught by the triple-crown accredited Birmingham Business School in a small, specialist cohort, it runs for 12 months full-time or 24 months part-time. Seven core modules cover supply chain design and performance, operations, procurement and supplier management, global supply chains and risk, sustainable and ethical supply chains, digital transformation and analytics, and research methods, followed by a 40-credit dissertation or, for high-performing students, a three-month company project with an industry partner. The course offers pathways to CIPS and CILT membership with exam exemptions, a route to Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification, and hands-on work with SAP S/4HANA and business simulations.

What You'll Study
Taught modules use lectures, seminars, interactive class discussions and business simulation, and assessment includes individual and group reports, group presentations, examinations and academic essays. The final 40-credit module is either a research dissertation on an area of supply chain management chosen by the student, or a company project: high-performing students can compete for three-month projects with industry partners, using real data on genuine business problems. Employer engagement and field trips change from year to year; previous years included a two-part speaker series with CIPS Chartered Fellows on current supply chain challenges, with free CIPS student membership and MCIPS pathway support, and CIPS sponsors the course's Overall Academic Excellence Award. Students use SAP S/4HANA through the SAP University Alliance and run virtual companies in RealGame digital business simulations.
Course modules (2026/27)
180 credits: seven compulsory 20-credit core modules and one 40-credit final project. The Operations and Supply Chain Management module is accredited by the International Lean Six Sigma Institute, and completing it qualifies students to opt for Green Belt certification from the Institute.

Accredited by the UAE Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and listed as Active on the Commission for Academic Accreditation register as the Masters of Science in Supply Chain Management. Birmingham Business School holds triple-crown accreditation (AACSB, AMBA and EQUIS). The course offers pathways to membership of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (MCIPS) and the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (MCILT), each with exemptions from exams, subject to completing the programme and meeting the institute's other requirements; its Operations and Supply Chain Management module is accredited by the International Lean Six Sigma Institute.

AED 166,356 a year full-time or AED 83,178 a year part-time, for September 2026 entry. The fee covers tuition, examinations and graduation and is charged for each year of study, so part-time students pay it in both years; it can be paid in full or in three instalments a year, and it does not include visa or living costs. Applications for September 2026 entry to this programme are closed, and details for September 2027 entry will be published later. Applications are made online through the University of Birmingham Dubai Admissions portal, with no application fee; postgraduate applicants upload transcripts for study completed so far, their degree certificate if available, and a CV. Decisions are usually made within 10 working days of all documents arriving. A non-returnable AED 5,000 deposit, deducted from tuition, is paid on accepting an offer. Scholarships of up to 30% are assessed from the application itself, with no separate form, and full-time students can apply for a student visa sponsored by the University.
