About This Programme
The MSc Financial Management at the University of Birmingham Dubai gives in-depth knowledge of corporate finance, including financial statement analysis, the valuation of securities and businesses, and financial modelling, skills sought by banks, insurers, stockbroking firms and the wider finance sector. It runs for 12 months full-time or 24 months part-time, taught by the triple-crown accredited Birmingham Business School. The course covers ethics, governance and regulatory frameworks and the accounting principles behind treasury operations, alongside foreign exchange markets, international treasury management, financial technology, data analytics and ESG financing. Students work with a range of databases and industry-standard software, and can follow pathways to two Association of Corporate Treasurers qualifications, the Certificate in Treasury and the Certificate in Treasury Fundamentals, alongside the degree.

What You'll Study
Teaching is through lectures, workshops and seminars. Assessment combines case studies, digital presentations, oral debate, written exams and individual and group assignments. Over the summer term, students work with their assigned supervisors to develop a research proposal into a full dissertation. Classes combine weekday evenings and weekends to suit working professionals as well as full-time students. The draft full-time timetable runs on weekday evenings from 18:00 to 21:30 and on Saturdays from 09:00 to 15:30, with each module block-taught over three weeks; part-time students attend the same sessions for the modules they take. The Programme Director is Dr Imen Tebourbi, whose research covers corporate governance, executive compensation, corporate finance, sustainability and risk management, and who has won awards for research and for leadership in education.

AED 174,509 a year full-time or AED 87,255 a year part-time, for September 2026 entry. The fee covers tuition, examinations and graduation and is charged for each year of study, so part-time students pay it in both years; it can be paid in full or in three instalments a year, and it does not include visa or living costs. Applications for September 2026 entry to this programme are closed, and details for September 2027 entry will be published later. Applications are made online through the University of Birmingham Dubai Admissions portal, with no application fee; postgraduate applicants upload transcripts for study completed so far, their degree certificate if available, and a CV. Decisions are usually made within 10 working days of all documents arriving. A non-returnable AED 5,000 deposit, deducted from tuition, is paid on accepting an offer. Scholarships of up to 30% are assessed from the application itself, with no separate form, and full-time students can apply for a student visa sponsored by the University.
