The Winchester School is a GEMS Education school in The Gardens, Jebel Ali, that has taught the National Curriculum for England since September 2003. It runs from FS1 to Year 13 in two adjacent buildings, one for primary and one for secondary students. From Year 10, students follow Cambridge (and some Pearson Edexcel) IGCSEs, a Pearson BTEC Level 2 pathway or a mix of the two, and in the Sixth Form they take three Cambridge International A Levels, two Pearson BTEC Level 3 Diplomas, or one of each. KHDA has rated the school Very Good at every inspection since 2015-16; at the latest, from 30 October to 3 November 2023, it had 4,303 students, 234 teachers and 414 students of determination, science was Outstanding in every phase and provision for students of determination was Very Good. In June 2025, 57% of IGCSE entries were graded A*-A, 35% of A Level entries were graded A*-A with a 100% pass rate, and 90% of BTEC students earned a Distinction or Distinction*. Admission depends on vacancies, with priority for siblings, and the school does not accept students who live in Sharjah, because of the distance.

Tuition for September 2026 to June 2027 is unchanged from last year; KHDA records that the school requested no increase. It is paid in three instalments, 40% by 1 September, 30% by 1 January and 30% by 1 April, online, by card, cheque, cash or wire transfer. Examination fees and transport are invoiced separately, and uniform, educational visits and any learning support the school identifies are charged on top. KHDA 2023–2024 inspection
FS1 and FS2 follow the Early Years Foundation Stage framework for England, with learning through purposeful play, exploration and experiential learning across seven areas. Early reading is taught through systematic synthetic phonics, and assessment is continuous and observational. In FS2, every child has Arabic for 200 minutes a week and Muslim children have Islamic Education for 90 minutes a week, with Social Studies and Moral Education built into daily routines. Children have an air-conditioned play area, a soft canopy area, a vegetable patch, a bike and reading area and a maths canopy area.
Key Stage 1 (Years 1 and 2) and Key Stage 2 (Years 3 to 6) follow the National Curriculum for England, with English, mathematics and science at the core and computing or ICT, humanities, music, physical education and, in Years 5 and 6, French. The Ministry of Education subjects are Arabic, Islamic Education for Muslim students (PSHCEE for others), Social Studies for Arab students or Moral, Social and Cultural Studies for non-Arab students, and Moral Education. STEAM lessons in the primary STEAM Café begin in Year 4, and from Year 3 students bring a device three days a week.
Key Stage 3 (Years 7 to 9) prepares students for IGCSE, with English, mathematics and science at the core and ICT, humanities, French, art and physical education, plus STEAM lessons in the secondary STEAM Café up to Year 9. Arabic, Islamic Studies for Muslim students (PSHCEE for others), Social Studies or Moral, Social and Cultural Studies, and Moral Education continue alongside. In Year 9 students choose their Year 10 pathway after option assemblies and taster lessons.
Years 10 and 11 follow one of three pathways (2026-27): IGCSE, with seven subjects including First Language English, mathematics and at least one science, and five options taught three lessons a week; a Pearson BTEC Level 2 pathway of two diplomas chosen from Applied Science, ICT and Business; or a hybrid of one BTEC with IGCSE English or mathematics. An option runs when more than 20 students choose it, and high attainers can take accelerated English and mathematics, adding English Literature and Additional Mathematics in Year 11. In June 2025, 27% of IGCSE entries were graded A*, 57% A*-A, 81% A*-B and 91% A*-C.
Students take three Cambridge International A Levels, one from each option block, two Pearson BTEC International Level 3 Diplomas, or one BTEC with one A Level (2026-27). Each A Level subject needs at least a grade B at IGCSE, a subject runs when ten or more students choose it, and Further Mathematics can be taken as self-study with approval. The BTEC Level 3 Diplomas are in Applied Science, Business and Information Technology. In June 2025, 35% of A Level entries were graded A*-A, 64% A*-B and 81% A*-C, with a 100% pass rate, and 90% of BTEC students earned a Distinction or Distinction*.
All classrooms have interactive LED screens and internet access, and primary and secondary classrooms have lockers for books and bags.

Six computer laboratories with internet and multimedia facilities; ICT is compulsory to Year 9, and ICT and computing are options from Year 10.
Two STEAM Cafés, one in the primary and one in the secondary building, equipped with LEGO, robotics, 3D printers and doodlers, with dedicated STEAM lessons from Year 4 to Year 9.
One BTEC lab equipped with the latest computers, for the school's Pearson BTEC courses.
One Food and Nutrition lab with modern amenities, used for IGCSE Food and Nutrition and for break-time and after-school cooking.
Two well-resourced libraries stocked with books, periodicals and other resources for all age groups.
A variety of outdoor and indoor sports fields, refurbished with new sports flooring.
