The Indian High School in Oud Metha is a not-for-profit CBSE school for Grades 5 to 12, run by the Board of Trustees of The Indian High Group of Schools; younger children attend the group's Al Garhoud campus. The school dates itself to 1961, when it opened as Bharat Vidyalaya in a villa in Bur Dubai, and calls itself the first expatriate educational institution established in Dubai; the land for the school was granted by Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, then Ruler of Dubai. CBSE's register also gives 1961 as its year of foundation (affiliation 6630001, Senior Secondary), while KHDA's directory lists it as founded in 1972 and KHDA's 2023-24 inspection report gives 1972 as its opening year. KHDA rated the school Very Good at its October 2023 inspection, with 18 judgements rated Outstanding, among them science attainment in both phases and students' personal development; it was rated Outstanding at every inspection from 2011-12 to 2016-17. At the October 2023 inspection it had 5,309 students and 317 teachers. The Middle School covers Grades 5 to 8, Secondary Grades 9 and 10, and Senior Secondary Grades 11 and 12 in Science, Commerce and Humanities streams, with subject combinations drawn from 21 subjects. Hindi is the second language; French, Computer Applications and Artificial Intelligence are electives from Grade 8; and Arabic, Islamic Education, UAE Social Studies and Moral Education follow the Ministry of Education curriculum. Girls and boys are taught in separate sections. The campus has science laboratories, the Future Forward Leeway technology lab with 3D printers and an F1 in Schools area, a library, a two-storey air-conditioned indoor sports complex, a football field and cricket practice pitch, an auditorium, the student-run Recess Radio and a music room.

Tuition is the KHDA-approved fee for 2026-27, the same in KHDA's fact sheets and on the school's own fee page, charged over 10 months; KHDA records that the school requested no increase. Every student also pays a once-a-year charge for exam materials, laboratory, e-learning and online subscriptions, ID card, school diary and calendar, and technology (AED 1,000 in Grade 5 rising to AED 1,250 in Grades 11 and 12), billed with the first month's fee, and students joining the Oud Metha campus for the first time pay a non-refundable facility fee of AED 2,100. KHDA's fact sheets give Total Fees of AED 8,625 in Grade 5 rising to AED 13,815 in Grades 11 and 12, which include the facility fee that only new students pay. Board examination fees are charged by the board with no extra charges. Uniform, books, transport and optional services are extra.

KHDA 2023–2024 inspection
The school's own curriculum for Grades 5 to 8, based on CBSE and Ministry of Education guidelines, prepares students for the CBSE secondary syllabus, with an emphasis on academic and life skills. Hindi is the second language; Arabic, Islamic Education, UAE Social Studies and Moral Education are taught alongside, and French, Computer Applications and Artificial Intelligence become electives in Grade 8. Coding, rapid prototyping and computational thinking projects run in every grade.
The CBSE curriculum, leading to the Class X board examination (the All India Secondary School Examination), with Arabic, Islamic Education, UAE Social Studies and Moral Education integrated. French, Computer Applications and Artificial Intelligence continue as electives. Grade 9 prepares for Grade 10, which sits model examinations before the board. Every candidate passed in 2024, 2025 and 2026.
Science, Commerce and Humanities streams, with subject combinations drawn from 21 subjects, leading to the Class XII board examination (the All India Senior School Certificate Examination). Grade 11 places are offered on merit, and Grade 12 entrants must have studied the same subjects in Grade 11. Three terms a year with unit tests and term-end examinations, and two model examinations in Grade 12. All 618 candidates passed in 2026.
Laboratories run with lab assistants who maintain the equipment and oversee safety (the school's facilities page); KHDA's 2023-24 inspectors described them as newly renovated.
The Department of Technology and Innovation's lab: 3D printers with Autodesk Inventor, Raspberry Pi and Arduino boards with sensors, and an F1 in Schools area with a CNC router, race track and wind tunnel, plus 4x4 in Schools kits.

CBSE's register lists her qualifications as BA (Hons), gold medallist, B.Ed and an MA in Educational Leadership, with 20 years of teaching and 8 of administrative experience. KHDA's 2023-24 inspectors found that leaders at all levels, inspired by the principal, set a very clear direction.
