Sharjah British International School

Sharjah British International School (SBIS) is a private, co-educational British school in the School Zone on Maliha Road, Muwailih Commercial, Sharjah, established in 2002. It teaches the British National Curriculum alongside Cambridge Primary, Cambridge Lower Secondary and IGCSE leading to GCE AS and A Level, from Kindergarten (KG1) to Grade 12 (ages 3 to 18). A deliberately small school of around 473 students, roughly 202 of them Emirati, it maintains a low pupil-teacher ratio of about 1:9 and benchmarks attainment using CAT4, PISA, TIMSS and PIRLS. SBIS is rated Good by the Sharjah Private Education Authority (SPEA), having been upgraded from Acceptable, and operates a Digital Campus learning portal. Its Board of Directors is chaired by Abdulla Khalifa Rashid Deemas Alsuwaidi, with fees ranging from AED 14,000 to 32,832.

Fees for 2026/2027, per year group. Excludes registration, uniform, and transport.
Fees are the school's published 2026-2027 scale and include compulsory book fees, which are billed in a single instalment at registration; tuition alone runs AED 13,550 to 31,100. Term one is paid in cash on registration, with terms two and three lodged as post-dated cheques at the same time, or the year may be settled in full. The school also runs an American stream in Grades 9 to 12 on the same tuition but a higher book charge, so those totals reach AED 34,950 rather than the British figures shown here. Registration is AED 500 and an entrance assessment AED 100, both non-refundable. Several reductions are available but none is automatic: 5% off each younger sibling's tuition where more than one child is enrolled, credited against term three; 5% for paying a single student's tuition in full in cash at registration, or 2% where siblings do; and 5% off transport for three or more siblings travelling both ways. Transport is AED 4,500 return within Sharjah, rising to AED 5,500 for Umm Al Quwain. Examination fees are extra, at AED 650 per IGCSE subject and AED 1,000 per AS or A level. Uniform is sold per item by the school's own boutique.
