About This Programme

This four-course, 12-credit micro-credential in Health Informatics is for learners who want to work with information systems in healthcare. It covers the technical details of typical healthcare information systems, such as message-oriented middleware, the need for digital security and privacy (for example HIPAA), and the physical constraints of data collection. RIT Dubai offers it in collaboration with Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences (MBRU), for people who want a rigorous education in health informatics while staying in employment. Its coursework can be applied toward RIT's MS in Human-Computer Interaction or MS in Information Technology and Analytics.

Entry Requirements

Academic: A bachelor's degree with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale or its equivalent). Applicants with a CGPA of 2.5 or higher and/or IELTS 5.5 may be admitted conditionally, and, in some programmes, mature applicants with a CGPA above 2.0 may be admitted conditionally if they pass an admissions committee interview and meet the standard English test requirements; related work experience can support an application.

English: IELTS 6.0 overall, TOEFL iBT 79 or TOEFL PBT 550. Applicants who completed their schooling (K-12) and a bachelor's degree in English in a reference English-speaking country such as the UK, USA, Australia or New Zealand may be exempt.

Required documents: passport copy, Emirates ID (UAE residents only), bachelor's degree diploma and transcript, an English test result, one letter of recommendation and a CV.
