Research specialisations: Energy systems (renewable energy, utilisation, conservation); Surface coatings and materials for gas turbines and solar panels; Tribology and contact mechanics; Solar collector technology with nanofluids; Aerodynamic optimisation for vehicles; Building-integrated renewable energy and net-zero concepts; Fluid-structure dynamics modelling; Artificial Intelligence in Energy Systems. Supervision: primary supervisor based at Dubai Campus, second supervisor in Dubai, Edinburgh, or Malaysia. Application requires: complete online application form; academic transcripts and degree certificates; proof of funding/sponsorship; detailed research proposal (3-4 pages). Entry: a good, relevant Master's degree (first or upper second class) or equivalent overseas qualification. IELTS 6.5 (no band below 6.0); pre-sessional English courses available.
