Grammar School Dubai
Grammar School Dubai is a British curriculum school in the Al Garhoud Schools Area, opposite Dubai Festival City, and part of the Athena Education group. The school, Athena and KHDA's last three inspection reports give 1970 as its opening year; KHDA's online directory lists 1974. It teaches FS2 to Year 13 (ages 4 to 18) on a campus of two buildings, one for the Foundation Stage and one for Primary and Secondary, following the National Curriculum for England alongside the UAE Ministry of Education subjects; students take IGCSEs in Years 10 and 11 and Pearson Edexcel International AS and A Levels in Years 12 and 13. KHDA rated the school Acceptable after its November 2023 inspection, when it had 1,321 students (the largest group Pakistani), 83 teachers and 111 students of determination; personal and social development and care and support were Good in every phase, and inspectors described "a caring environment which values inclusivity and wellbeing". The school reports students of over 60 nationalities and an "Every Child Matters" ethos. Tuition for 2026-27 is AED 5,120 to 7,040, with no increase on the year (KHDA).

Tuition for 2026-27 is the same on the school's fee table and on KHDA's fact sheets, and KHDA records that the school asked not to raise it. KHDA lists an ICT fee (AED 150) and a medical fee (AED 100) as mandatory; the school's table places ICT under "Mandatory" and stars the medical fee as optional. The school's table then adds books, uniform, stationery, a photograph, a student ID, enrichment, annual day, a local trip, skill development, English language immersion and STEM programmes, all starred optional, National Agenda Parameter and Arabic benchmark tests (not starred; KHDA lists them as optional) and VAT, for totals of AED 13,270 (FS2) to AED 18,040 (Year 9). KHDA 2023–2024 inspection
Foundation Stage 2 follows the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum, in the school's own Foundation Stage building. Activity-based, thematic planning introduces literacy and mathematics, with a programme in phonics and writing, and builds children's confidence, communication skills and cognitive and motor abilities; every child also learns Arabic (KHDA, 2023-24).
Key Stage 1 (Years 1 and 2) builds on the Foundation Stage and introduces children step by step to a wider range of learning. Subjects are English, mathematics, science, humanities (history and geography), Islamic Education, Arabic for Arabs or for non-Arabs, UAE social studies, moral education, PSHCEE, ICT, PE, music and art.
Key Stage 2 (Years 3 to 6) uses individual and group projects to encourage critical and creative thinking, with more emphasis on extra-curricular activities. Subjects are English, mathematics, science, humanities (history and geography), Islamic Education, Arabic for Arabs or for non-Arabs, UAE social studies, moral education, PSHCEE, ICT, PE, music and art, with French in Years 4 to 6.
Key Stage 3 (Years 7 to 9) is the first stage of Secondary: a broad programme that prepares students to make informed choices for their future education, with the UAE Ministry of Education subjects alongside the National Curriculum. Core subjects are English, mathematics, science, Arabic (A for Arabic speakers, B for non-Arabic speakers), Islamic Education (A or B for Muslim students), UAE social studies and PSHE for non-Muslim students; foundation subjects are PE, art and design, music, history, geography and computing.
Years 10 and 11 follow a two-year programme of six externally examined subjects (IGCSE, GCSE or AQA), a stepping stone to International A Level. Every student takes English (first or second language) and mathematics, with the other subjects chosen from four option blocks, alongside a weekly PE lesson and the Ministry of Education subjects: Islamic Education for Muslim students, Arabic A for Arabic speakers and PSHE for non-Muslim students. The school describes itself as an accredited UK independent exam centre and arranges IGCSE exam access with Pearson Edexcel (Assessment Policy 2026-27).
In Years 12 and 13 students prepare for Pearson Edexcel International AS and International A Level examinations. In Year 12 they choose three or four subjects from four option blocks, each studied for one year to AS Level or for two years to a full A Level, supported by an enrichment programme; students following MoE equivalency also take Arabic A (Arabic speakers) and Islamic Education A or B (Muslim students). Entry is based on IGCSE/GCSE and AS results (Admissions Policy 2026-27), and KHDA's 2023-24 report records guidance on Post-16 career pathways.

Principal since 20 August 2022 (KHDA). KHDA's 2023-24 report counts "a principal and senior leaders trusted by students, members of staff and parents" among the school's highlights. He is the school's Designated Safeguarding Lead (Safeguarding Policy 2026-27).
