Grammar School Dubai

Grammar School Dubai is one of the oldest British curriculum schools in Dubai, originally established in 1970 by the D'Cruz family and officially recognised by KHDA from 1974. Now part of the Athena Education group, the school is located in the Al Garhoud Schools Area opposite Dubai Festival City and serves students from Foundation Stage 2 through to Year 13, following the UK National Curriculum. Students are prepared for IGCSE and A Level examinations. The school enrols approximately 1,305 students from over 60 nationalities, with a predominantly South Asian community. Under the leadership of Principal Benjamin David Barry, Grammar School has built a strong wellbeing-led ethos described by KHDA inspectors as caring and inclusive, with Personal and Social Development rated Good across all phases. The school is recognised as one of the most affordable British curriculum schools in Dubai, with fees ranging from AED 5,120 to AED 7,040. The school is an accredited UK independent exam centre and emphasises its 'Every Child Matters' philosophy.
Fees for 2026/2027, per year group. Excludes registration, uniform, and transport.
The figures shown are Grammar School Dubai's KHDA-approved annual tuition for 2026-27, from AED 5,120 in Foundation Stage 2 to AED 7,040 from Year 9 upward, and the school confirms no increase for the year. Every family also pays a mandatory AED 250 on top, made up of an information and communication technology charge of AED 150 and a medical fee of AED 100; the regulator lists both as mandatory, though the school's own fee table marks the medical half as optional, so it is worth confirming which applies. Beyond that the school prices a long list of optional extras per year group, including books, uniform, stationery, enrichment activities, a skill development programme, an English language immersion programme and a STEM programme, and its own all-in table therefore reaches roughly AED 13,270 to AED 18,040 once those and VAT are added. New students pay a non-refundable registration fee of AED 525 including VAT. Discounts are eligibility-based only: siblings receive up to 3 per cent for the first and up to 5 per cent thereafter, and staff up to 50 per cent. School transport runs from AED 4,150 to AED 7,100 a year by route. The school teaches Foundation Stage 2 to Year 13 and does not offer a Foundation Stage 1 year, although the regulator licenses one.
