English Language Private School (ELPS), formerly known as English Medium School, was established in 1978 and is one of the longest-running British curriculum schools in Dubai. Part of the LEAMS Education group, the school is located in the Oud Metha area near Dubai Creek and serves students from Foundation Stage 2 through to Year 13, following the National Curriculum for England. Students are prepared for IGCSE, AS Level, and A Level examinations accredited by Edexcel. The school serves approximately 2,000 students from over 37 nationalities, with a predominantly South Asian community. Classes are mixed-gender through Year 4 and taught separately for boys and girls from Year 5 onward. Under the leadership of Principal Muhammad Atif, ELPS has shown consistent improvement and received an Acceptable rating in its most recent KHDA inspection (2023-24), with strengths noted in personal development, curriculum design, and health and safety. The school is recognised for its affordability, strong community ethos, and emphasis on discipline, cultural respect, and social responsibility.
