GEMS New Millennium School - Al Khail

GEMS New Millennium School - Al Khail is a dual-curriculum school in Dubai offering both the Indian CBSE and the Cambridge IGCSE/A Level pathways. Established in 2013 as part of the GEMS Education network, the school teaches from Pre-KG through to Grade 12 on a purpose-built campus on Al Khail Road. The Kindergarten follows the Early Years Foundation Stage framework of the National Curriculum for England, an enriched CBSE curriculum runs through Grades 1 to 8, and students then choose between CBSE Grades 9 to 12 and the Cambridge route of IGCSE in Years 10 and 11 followed by AS and A Level in Years 12 and 13. The Kindergarten follows the Early Years Foundation Stage framework of the National Curriculum for England, mapped in depth to the school's own curriculum and supported pedagogically by Montessori philosophy. Learning is organised around seven areas of development, with each child's individual needs and identity nurtured to build independence.
An enriched CBSE curriculum in which the development of skills underpins the content. Most subjects are aligned to international curriculum standards and UAE regulations, which allows students to transition easily to either the CBSE or the IGCSE programme after Grade 8. Students choose French, Hindi or Malayalam as a second language, and an ELL programme supports those who join as beginners in English from Grade 1 upwards.
The CBSE pathway, taken by students continuing from Grade 8 in April. Students sit the All India Secondary School Examination at the end of Grade 10 and the All India Senior School Certificate Examination at the end of Grade 12. Subject options become available from Grade 11, with Science and Commerce streams among them. Career guidance begins in Grade 8 and includes IIT/JEE coaching for entrance to engineering and medical courses; the school is a registered SAT and IELTS centre.
A two-year Cambridge IGCSE programme from Cambridge Assessment International Education, started in September. The equivalence in age and curriculum allows students to move directly from Grade 8 CBSE into Year 10. Students take compulsory IGCSE subjects alongside compulsory non-IGCSE provision, then one option from each of two blocks.
A two-year Cambridge AS and A Level programme following the IGCSE pathway, with university guidance and career counselling throughout. The school is a registered SAT centre and an IELTS centre.
