GEMS Cambridge International School Sharjah

GEMS Cambridge International School Sharjah (GCS) is a private, co-educational British school in the Muwailih School Zone, overlooking the American University of Sharjah, and part of GEMS Education. Opened in September 2019, it delivers the UK National Curriculum from the Early Years Foundation Stage through IGCSE and International A Levels, examined via Pearson Edexcel, Cambridge International and Oxford AQA, and taught through a Design Thinking approach. At its November 2022 SPEA review the school had 1,736 students from 66 nationalities, and it reports substantial growth since. The Sharjah Private Education Authority rated the school Very Good in its first review, in November 2022, with Outstanding health and safety. In 2025 every A Level grade was A*-C and 75% were A*-B, the highest proportions of any GEMS school, while 62% of IGCSE grades were 9-7 and 87% were 9-5. Year 13 students held 2025 offers from Russell Group universities including Bristol, Warwick, Sheffield, Glasgow and Cardiff, and from the American University of Sharjah. The school is a Microsoft Showcase School, holds British Schools Overseas accreditation and is a certified member of COBIS.
Fees for 2026/2027, per year group. Excludes registration, uniform, and transport.
These are the school's own figures under "Fee Structure for 2026/27", AED 22,175 at FS1 to 34,800 at Year 13, and they are unchanged from its 2025/26 table. The school heads the column "Approved Fees" and states that tuition includes book and resource fees; its own wording is that fees are set "by GEMS Education under the guidance of the SPEA established School Fee Framework", so the approval is the school's characterisation rather than a SPEA document we have seen. Fees are paid in three instalments due 17 August 2026, 15 December 2026 and 15 March 2027, and the school does not accept post-dated cheques. A seat reservation fee of AED 1,000 must be paid within three days to hold a place; it is non-refundable but is credited against the first term. Returning families pay a AED 1,000 re-enrolment deposit on the same terms. From 2026/27 textbooks are issued as class sets and remain the school's property.
