24 credit hours (18 required plus 6 electives). Minimum 54 credit hours total, typically completed in 4 to 6 years.
Select 2 elective courses (6 credit hours) spanning pathology, microbiology and immunology, pharmacology, genetics, neuroscience, virology, microbiome and computational biochemistry.
Research areas: cancer biology; diabetes and cardiometabolic disease; neurodegenerative and neuropsychiatric disorders; gene regulation, epigenetics, bioinformatics and proteomics; signal transduction, oxidative stress and mitochondrial dysfunction; immunology and biochemical toxicology; molecular cancer therapeutics; infectious diseases, host-pathogen interactions and molecular microbiology.
Full transcripts, two references and, where required, a research proposal are needed.
Graduates pursue careers in healthcare, clinical services, public health and research, or continue to further professional or postgraduate study.
