The Westminster School Dubai

The Westminster School Dubai (TWS) is one of the largest and most affordable British curriculum schools in Dubai, opened in 1995 in Al Qusais and part of GEMS Education. It had 5,224 students at its most recent KHDA inspection and follows the National Curriculum for England from FS1 to Year 13, leading to IGCSE, AS and A Level. KHDA rates the school Good overall, and rates all three strands of students personal and social development Outstanding in every phase, from Foundation Stage through Post-16. Curriculum adaptation, health and safety, and partnership with parents are Very Good. Facilities include six science laboratories, five computer rooms, three libraries, an audio-visual room, music and art and craft rooms, a basketball court and a large astroturf, and two medical rooms staffed by a doctor and eight nurses. Transport runs on a fleet of 64 air-conditioned buses. The school is accredited by BSO and BSME. With tuition from AED 9,362 it is among the most affordable British schools in the emirate.

Tuition runs from AED 9,362 in Foundation Stage to AED 18,203 in Years 11 to 13, and KHDA records that the school requested no increase for 2026-2027. On top of tuition every family pays a mandatory AED 550 a year, itemised by KHDA as computer 200, medical 50, laboratory 100, library 100 and activities 100; the school presents the same 550 as an annual fee of 350 plus a computer fee of 200 and adds 5 per cent VAT on the 350. A one-off application fee of AED 525 including VAT applies to new registrations. Enrolment is up to 10 per cent of tuition for new students, or up to 5 per cent or AED 500 whichever is higher to re-enrol, both non-refundable and deducted from first-term fees. There is no general discount: nothing is offered for the first three children, then up to 25 per cent for a fourth and up to 50 per cent from a fifth, alongside staff, corporate, privilege-card and humanitarian schemes that depend on eligibility. Books, stationery, uniform, transport, activities, canteen and learning support are all charged separately.
