A four-year graduate-entry Doctor of Medicine, the first of its kind in the UAE, training physicians who integrate technology into clinical practice, modelled on North American LCME-style standards and CAA-accredited.

What You'll Study
Full-time, cohort-based, four-year post-baccalaureate MD delivered on the North American model, with integrated pre-clerkship sciences, core clinical clerkships, and advanced clinical rotations at KU's campus and affiliated hospitals.
Year 1 - Foundations of Medicine (Pre-clerkship)
- Foundational biomedical sciences (molecular and cell biology, genetics, anatomy, histology, embryology, physiology, immunology, pathology, microbiology, pharmacology)
- Clinical Medicine I (communication, history-taking, physical examination, simulation, primary-care preceptorship)
- Medicine and Society (health systems, social determinants of health)
- Research strand (epidemiology, biostatistics, evidence-based medicine, research project begins)
Year 2 - Integrated Organ Systems (Pre-clerkship)
- Organ-system blocks (cardiovascular, respiratory, renal, musculoskeletal, gastrointestinal, haematopoietic and lymphoreticular, endocrine, reproductive, nervous and behavioural, integumentary)
- Clinical Medicine II (targeted histories, differential diagnosis, therapeutic strategies)
- Balsam Community Health Learning Program (home-based service learning)
- Continued research project
Year 3 - Core Clinical Clerkships
- Internal Medicine, Surgery, Paediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Psychiatry, Neurology, Family Medicine, and Medical Imaging clerkships
- Medical Science in Clinical Practice (weekly biomedical integration)
- Balsam program and research work continue
Year 4 - Advanced Training and Specialization
- Emergency Medicine rotation4 credits

Entry Requirements
The four-year MD is the first of its kind in the UAE, CAA-accredited and modelled on North American LCME standards.
Careers
Graduates earn a Doctor of Medicine and progress into residency training and clinical practice, having been prepared to North American (LCME-modelled) standards and contextualized to UAE health priorities.
