About This Programme

4-year Edinburgh Business School MA (Hons) Professional Accountancy, Scottish-system undergraduate MA, created in partnership with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland (ICAS). Up to 11 ICAS exam exemptions, one of the highest levels of accreditation at undergraduate level and one of the fastest routes to Chartered Accountant status. Applicants must evidence prior learning in both Microeconomics and Macroeconomics to qualify for maximum exemptions; otherwise exemptions may be reduced. Year 1 mandatory: Management in a Global Context, Introduction to Accounting, The Economy, Critical Academic Skills, Introduction to Economic and Financial Analysis, Introductory Finance, Becoming a Professional, Sustainable Business. Year 2 mandatory: Principles of Accounting, Social and Environmental Accounting, Fundamentals of Finance, Introduction to Business Analytics, Statistical Techniques, Management Accounting in Organisations, Financial Accounting, Financial Markets Theory. Year 3 mandatory: Corporate Financial Theory, Intermediate Financial Accounting, Management Accounting Techniques and Decisions, Accounting Information Systems and Technology, Business Law and the Law of Corporate Governance, Taxation (Tax Law), Auditing and Assurance, Business Research Methods. Year 4 mandatory: Data Risk and Technology, Advanced Auditing and Assurance, Corporate Finance and Modelling, Accounting and Finance Dissertation 1/2, Advanced Financial Accounting, Accounting for Sustainability, Data Analytics and Insights. Year 1 entry: A-Level BBC (or AABB AS); IB 28; CBSE 75%; American HS 75% + SAT I 1000; Tawjihiyya 80%; BTEC L3 MMD; French Bac 13/20 + IELTS 6.0; or HW Foundation (Management) with BBCC. Year 2 advanced entry (Sep only): A-Level ABB in Business/Accounting/Economics; IB 34 inc. Accounting/Business/Economics/Maths HL5; CBSE 85%; HND BBB in Accounting/Business graded units. IELTS 6.0 (no band below 5.5). September intake only. Tuition AED 76,505/year (incl. VAT), total AED 306,020. Accreditations: ICAS (up to 11 exam exemptions); UAE MoHESR; UK QAA. Academic: Our normal entry criteria are listed below.
