About This Programme

One-year MSc International Accounting and Finance, Edinburgh Business School postgraduate in international accounting standards and corporate finance. Evening classes accommodate working professionals. September intake mandatory: Corporate Finance, Financial Analysis, International Accounting Standards (Sep); Research Philosophy and Practice, International Managerial Accounting, International Accounting Theory (Jan); Accounting/Banking/Finance Dissertation (May). January intake follows same modules in shifted order. Optional modules (1 per semester): Corporate Governance and Sustainability, Capital Markets, Empirical Financial Modelling, Comparative Financial Reporting. Heriot-Watt is a Bloomberg Experiential Learning Partner (ELP), students access real-world financial data, research, and analytics for company performance comparison, supply chain mapping, market analysis, and portfolio construction. Entry: a strong Honours degree (first or second class) in a relevant field, or equivalent overseas qualification. Non-graduates with compensating qualifications/experience may enter the PG Diploma with MSc transfer. IELTS 6.0 (no band below 5.5, writing 6.0 minimum); IELTS 6.5 for candidates without English-medium secondary education (all bands ≥6.0). September and January intakes. Full-time 12 months; part-time 24 months; 9-month PG Diploma option also available. Tuition AED 99,528/year full-time (incl. VAT) or AED 49,764/year part-time. Accreditations: ACCA, exemptions from select professional exams; CIMA, exemptions via Self-tailored Learning Pathway; ICAEW, exemptions from select examinations; UAE MoHESR; UK QAA; three consecutive KHDA five-star ratings. 90%+ graduates in graduate-level jobs or further study within six months. Inter-campus transfer available via Go Global.

Entry Requirements

Academic: For MSc entry, a good relevant Honours degree (first or second class) or equivalent overseas qualifications will be considered. Given the clear practical element of the programmes, we will also consider non-graduate candidates holding less than a good Honours degree, or its equivalent, but with compensating qualifications or experience may be admitted to the Postgraduate Diploma programme. Transfer to the MSc will be possible later on if exams and course work are at MSc level.
