Professional research doctorate (DBA) — designed to support experienced professionals to deliver unique solutions in their sector or organisation. Duration up to 5 years (FT or PT). Programme structure: Course Stage (approx. 1 year) — three mandatory online Research Methods modules (Introduction; The Qualitative Researcher; The Quantitative Researcher) with optional 4-day on-campus seminars at Edinburgh or Dubai; on completion students receive a Postgraduate Certificate in Research Methods. Research Stage (3-5 years) — supervisory team of 2 (potentially 3) academics; thesis submission and oral defence (Viva Voce). Entry: minimum 5 years relevant managerial-level experience with CV demonstrating career progression; Master's degree from a recognised institution in a relevant field; two references (preferably one academic and one professional); certified transcripts. Dubai applicants prerequisite: completion of a Postgraduate Certificate (PgCert) in Social Research Methods (GBP 3,690 base + GBP 800 workshop fees; free to applicants who subsequently enrol on the DBA — fee deduction applied). IELTS 6.5 (no band below 6.0); pre-sessional English available. Applications accepted year-round with flexible start dates.
