Dubai Schools Al Khawaneej

Dubai Schools Al Khawaneej is a co-educational American curriculum school in Al Khawaneej, Dubai, operated by Taaleem Education on behalf of the Dubai Government as part of the Dubai Schools Corporation initiative. Opened in 2021, the school delivers the New York State Education Department (NYSED) curriculum standards from KG 1 through Grade 8, with plans to expand to Grade 12. The school serves over 870 students, the majority of whom are Emirati nationals. A distinctive feature of the school is that tuition fees are inclusive of transportation, uniforms, and extracurricular activities, with government subsidies of up to 85% available for qualifying UAE families based on household income. The campus is purpose-built on a large scale with 149 classrooms, 71 specialist laboratories and rooms, a two-floor library spanning 11,800 square feet, three temperature-controlled indoor swimming pools including a half-Olympic-size pool, four indoor gymnasia, and a full-size football pitch. The school emphasises Arabic language and Islamic studies alongside the American curriculum and holds NEASC candidacy status. It received a KHDA Acceptable rating for its first inspection in 2023–2024, with strengths in student attitudes, health and safety, and school management.
Fees for 2026/2027, per year group. Excludes registration, uniform, and transport.
Dubai Schools Al Khawaneej publishes a single annual fee per year group for 2026-27, split into three termly instalments that sum to it exactly, running from AED 30,603 in KG1 to AED 46,800 in Grade 9. Grade 9 opens in 2026/27 subject to regulator approval, and the school advertises Grades 10 to 12 at the same figure as opening in the near future, so they are not shown here. Unusually, the school states that its fee is inclusive of transportation, uniform and extra-curricular activities, so it is not directly comparable with a tuition-only figure at another school. The regulator approves a higher ceiling than the school charges at every grade, and the gap widens up the school from about AED 795 in KG1 to AED 7,386 in Grade 9. A separate education subsidy of 20 to 85 per cent is available but is tightly restricted: the school states it is only available for Dubai family book holders, and the rate depends on the father's monthly income. An application fee of AED 500 covers assessment, and enrolment is up to 10 per cent of tuition, deductible from first-term fees.
