About This Programme

Students enrolled in AURAK's Architecture, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering and Civil Engineering programmes can add an 18 credit-hour minor in Artificial Intelligence, bringing machine learning, data analysis and AI-driven problem solving into their primary field. AURAK gives design optimisation and smart buildings as the architecture application, process simulation and reaction optimisation for chemical engineering, and robotics, automation and manufacturing for mechanical engineering. AURAK describes the duration as equivalent to one semester.

Entry Requirements

Academic: Open to students already enrolled in AURAK's Architecture, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering or Civil Engineering programmes.
English: Academic IELTS 5.0, TOEFL paper-based 500, TOEFL internet-based 61, Duolingo English Test 80, or a pass at the required score in the Oxford Online Placement Test (OOPT) taken at AURAK.

Applications are made online. AURAK's admissions application deadline for Fall 2026 is 30 August 2026 and for Spring 2027 is 3 January 2027.

Careers

AURAK lists smart city planner, pharmaceutical engineer, robotics engineer, machine learning engineer and smart infrastructure developer as roles open to engineering graduates who take the AI concentration.
