About This Programme

The mission of the Department of Architecture is to provide the society with graduates qualified for successful professional career in Architecture. The department focuses on teaching students the fundamental theoretical and practical principles of Architecture and their application to solving real-world problems. Consistent with its mission, the Department of Architecture developed a learning program consisting of a number of practical and theoretical courses.

Entry Requirements

Academic: Admission to the Architecture program requires a UAE secondary school certificate or its equivalent, with a minimum acceptable grade of 70% Advanced, 75% General or 65% Elite Track. Ajman’s programme list gives the indicative high school average as Elite 65%, Advanced 70%, General 75%.
English: A minimum of 80% in the Grade 12 English subject, or IELTS Academic 5.0, TOEFL ITP 500 or TOEFL iBT 61.

The Bachelor of Architecture is awarded upon fulfillment of the following: Successful completion of all courses in the prescribed curriculum Successful completion of four months' Architectural training The Cumulative Grade Point Average CGPA is at least 2.0.

Careers

Because of the multidisciplinary nature of the curriculum, graduates are qualified for employment in a variety of areas. They can work, for example, as designers and construction managers, or join city planning or community agencies and governmental authorities. Alternatively, they can become building contractors. As graduates are trained in problem-solving they are able to adapt to a range of jobs in both the public and private sector.

Accreditation & Professional Recognition

Ajman University reports UNESCO-UIA validation for its architecture programme. Ajman University is licensed by the UAE Ministry of Education and this award is accredited by the Commission for Academic Accreditation (CAA). The university also holds institutional accreditation from WSCUC in the United States and the Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) in the United Kingdom.
